Hey everyone! I am back from Katsucon and up to drawing again! I got sick at the con, so I was out of commission for the last two weeks. i am doing much better now. Being at Katsucon changed my outlook on drawing and talking to a friend helped me see things more clearly. I feel freer to draw and I chalk that up to not giving too much of a shit. Instead of worrying if I'm getting better or not, I am just drawing, learning and enjoying the process. I completely forgot how to do that!
I am currently focusing on drawing my main, non-fictional obsession: fish. I love drawing them so much! Fish give me so much joy and I haven't been portraying that as I really want to. As for fiction, I am drawing more of my OCs and taking time to draw the silly little fanart ideas that pop into my head. Fanart is fun and I've made it more of a chore than anything. No more of that.
I have been posting these arts on Tumblr because it feels like a sketchbook. DA's cool, but when I post here, I feel like I am posting in an art gallery. Drawing for an art gallery just makes me want to give up and go take a nap. Right now, I just want to toss up even my silly drawings and ideas and develop my style from there. My art is cross-posted at Twitter so if you watch me there, you won't miss my drawings. I'm not leaving here or anything like that. I will reserve posting only really neato pics here.
Thanks to all who stopped at our table at Katsucon and for the commissions! I will be at CHS Otakufest, a small convention in Ellicott City, MD in April. I'll post my table's location as soon as it's made available.
